History
Covering a modest 1.12 hectares, Château La Pointe Chantecaille received the full dedication and care of the Estager family from 1848 to 2020.
The estate is located at the heart of the prestigious “Golden Triangle” of Saint-Émilion and Pomerol’s finest vineyards, on a highly sought-after terroir composed of gravel soils and blue clay interwoven with iron oxides.
In 2020, the property was acquired by Jean-Paul d’Incau, a passionate wine enthusiast and terroir advocate, as well as President of Groupe SGE. Under his leadership, the estate underwent a complete renovation and is now equipped with a new temperature-controlled winery designed for highly precise vinification.
Together with his son Gérald, he initiated a comprehensive modernization of the estate’s technical facilities and enlisted the expertise of the Berrouet family as consulting oenologists. Their guidance ensures the highest standards throughout the winemaking and ageing processes, allowing the estate’s wines to fully express the character and excellence of their terroir.

Nestled between the prestigious terroirs of Pomerol and Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, Château La Pointe Chantecaille produces two distinct wines that showcase the full richness and character of its vineyard.
Château La Pointe Chantecaille Grand Cru
The estate’s flagship wine is distinguished by its deep colour, with rich purple and garnet hues. The nose reveals an elegant combination of balsamic, floral, and liquorice notes. On the palate, fine, well-structured tannins support a generous, fleshy texture, leading to a long and refined finish.
L’Envol
The château’s second wine, L’Envol, offers a more approachable and fruit-forward expression of the terroir. Aromas of cherry and blackcurrant open onto a supple, fresh, and harmonious palate, carried by silky tannins and remarkable finesse.

A Saint-Émilion Grand Cru cultivated according to organic farming principles and certified organic since 2024.
The vineyards are farmed with deep respect for the ecosystem and local biodiversity. Every practice is designed to preserve the natural balance of the vineyard and enhance the expression of its exceptional terroir.
Horse ploughing allows for precise and gentle soil cultivation, reducing compaction, preserving the soil’s natural structure, and encouraging microbial activity. Seasonal sheep grazing provides natural vineyard maintenance without mechanisation, enriches the soil with organic matter, and contributes to the vineyard’s ecological balance.
Harvesting is carried out exclusively by hand, with carefully controlled yields to ensure the highest quality and meticulous attention to every vine.
Guided by the renowned Berrouet family, both vinification and ageing reflect the distinctive Chantecaille philosophy. The wines undergo a slow and precise maturation in French oak barrels and Tuscan terracotta amphorae, a process that enhances their finesse, elegance, and purity of expression.
